Language Arts: Have students write a paragraph (have them do this in Open Office NOT ON LINE) about why they think Elliot reacted the way he did to the note Bethany wrote to Catalina. Tell them that this will be posted after I preview them so they should be careful in choosing their words. Give them 15 minutes or so (as long as they are productive) to do this.
After that they can do the following activity regarding roots on their netbooks. Root Words They can start with flash cards, move on to games and then make a quiz and take it on-line. If they finish all that they can silently read in a book of their choice.
Social Studies: Worksheets: Occupied Denmark and The Story of a River. If they finish early they can continue work on finding real life examples of their land/water vocabulary. Page 8 in Atlas or the Quizlet paper contains vocabulary.
Science: Worksheets: 3 worksheets. Give them one at a time.
